WASHINGTON, DC — President Obama and his family are in Hawaii for their annual holiday vacation, but is the weather back home going to be nicer than the Aloha state’s?

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies with a high of 69 degrees for Washington D.C. on Christmas Day. In Hawaii, there’s a 50 percent chance of rain with a high near 74 degrees forecast for Friday.

Obama and his family arrived in HawaiiSaturday and have enjoyed hiking at Makiki Valley Loop Trail, golfing at Mid Pacific Country Club and dinner at Morimoto Restaurant in Waikiki, according to the Associated Press. The trail is 2.5 miles and is located at Hawaii Nature Center.

The Obamas rent a home during their stay and are usually in Hawaii, the state where Obama was born and grew up, for two weeks. The family is staying at the Hale Reena Estate in the Kailuana neighborhood of Kailua, according to Hawaii Magazine and other reports.
